When dental implants are inserted into the jawbone to replace missing teeth or to provide a firm hold for dentures, a sufficiently wide and high bone is a basic requirement.
If this is not the case, it is necessary to rebuild the jawbone in the same session as the implantation – or before if necessary. The body’s own material can be used for this.
However, donor material can often be used in order to save the removal of autologous bone and to be able to carry out the bone augmentation as gently as possible.
