Also known as adenotomy, this is a proven and gentle procedure for removing enlarged tonsils (also known as “adenoids”). These enlarged tonsils can lead to problems such as airway blockages, recurring middle ear infections, snoring or nocturnal breathing stops, especially in children.
In our practice, we perform adenotomies using state-of-the-art technology and the highest safety standards. The treatment is usually performed on an outpatient basis and under general anesthesia so that your child can leave the practice after a short period of monitoring. Our experienced team provides comprehensive care before, during and after the procedure.
When does an adenotomy make sense?
- Frequent middle ear infections or hearing problems
- Chronic nasal obstructions
- Recurrent infections in the ear, nose and throat area
- Interrupted breathing or snoring
We will be happy to advise you individually as to whether an adenotomy is advisable in your case.
