Pain:
Pain in the throat area can be caused by infection, inflammation, irritation or injury to the mucous membranes and muscles of the throat and larynx.
Voice disorders:
Changes in the voice, such as hoarseness, can be caused by inflammation of the vocal folds, reflux disease, tumors, neurological diseases or functional voice disorders.

Globus sensation:
The feeling of having a lump in the throat without a foreign body actually being present can be caused by stress, reflux disease or muscle tension.
Compulsive throat clearing:
Frequent and compulsive throat clearing can be due to irritation of the mucous membranes, inflammation, reflux disease or muscular strain in the larynx, for example.
Swallowing disorder:
Difficulty swallowing, also known as dysphagia, can be caused by neurological diseases, structural abnormalities, tumors or inflammation in the throat and larynx.
