The Hyperbaric Oxygen Center in Salzburg offers a state-of-the-art pressure chamber that can be used for both HBO (hyperbaric oxygen therapy) and hypobaric therapy (high altitude medicine).
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a form of treatment in which patients inhale medically pure oxygen under hyperbaric conditions. Poorly perfused or inflamed body tissues in particular are better supplied with oxygen as a result.
This form of therapy is used for long COVID, anemia, oncological diseases (late effects of radiation), bone and joint diseases, in the field of ENT, dermatology and diving accidents as well as in altitude training and for athletes.
